You Belong

We have so many allies in this world…
the expanse of the blue sky
the density of the earth
the invitation of morning birdsong
the warm brittle of the ocean's breeze.

To believe that you're all alone creates the story that you don't belong…
that incarnation somehow got it wrong
that home isn't in your body
that you have been abandoned by everyone
that you should hide from yourself; quietly unseen or loudly, behind a veil.

To believe that you are alone, is to deny the intimacy life is endlessly offering you to be here.

Yet, the moment you begin to pay attention...
to soften your palm
to look upward
to feel grounded where you stand
to move your body in all the ways it has longed to move
....you begin to come out of this abstraction and back into the world again, remembering that you belong to everything.

Love,
Alanna
